Materials:
- Your choice of yarn and recommended crochet hook size for yarn
- Safety eyes
- Stuffing/Fibrefill
- Tapestry needle
- Embroidery needle and black thread (for face details)
- Stitch markers (recommended)
I used...
Drops Muskat 100% cotton:
-8mm safety eyes
Pattern:
Ice Cream (brown for bear, lilac for cat):
R1: sc 6 in magic ring (6)
R2: *inc* around (12)
R3: *sc, inc* around (18)
R4: *sc 2, inc* around (24)
R5: *sc 3, inc* around (30)
R6: *sc 4, inc* around (36)
R7-9: sc around (36)
R10: *sc 4, dec* around (30)
R11: *sc 3, dec* around (24)
R12: sc around (24)
R13: working in FLO. sl st, ch 2, dc 4 in same st. 5 dc in every st around. sl st into first dc.
Attach safety eyes 6 st apart between R7 and R8. Stuff firmly.
Fasten off and weave in your ends.
Cone (beige):
R1: sc 6 in magic ring (6)
R2: *inc* around (12)
R3-4: sc around (12)
R5: *sc, inc* around (18)
R6: sc around (18)
R7: *sc 2, inc* around (24)
R8-12: sc around (24)
Stuff firmly. Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing.
Bear Ears (make 2 in brown):
R1: sc 5 in magic ring (5)
R2: *inc* around (10)
R3: sc around (10)
R4: sl st, fold flat and sc 4 across (4)
Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing.
Cat Ears (make 2 in lilac):
R1: sc 4 in magic ring (4)
R2: *sc, inc* around (6)
R3: *sc 2, inc* (8)
R4: *sc 3, inc* (10)
R5: fold in half sl st, sc 4 across (4)
Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing.
Cream (in white):
Row 1: Ch 25
Row 2: starting in second st from hook, sc 3 in each st across (75)
Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing.
Strawberry (red for bear, pink for cat):
R1: sc 4 in magic ring (4)
R2: *sc 1, inc* around (6)
R3: *sc 2, inc* around (8)
R4: sc around (8)
R5: *sc 3, inc* (10)
R6: *dec* around (5)
Leaves (green):
In magic ring *sl st, ch 3, sc 2*. Repeat 4 times. Fasten off and leave long tail. Sew your leaves to the top of the strawberry.
Assembly:
1. For the muzzle:
For this you can either cut out a small circle of felt and glue this on using hot glue or fabric glue
or
Using yarn two weights smaller than the yarn you used to make the cones, follow this to make a circle:
2. Use the back loops of the ice cream to sew on to the cone. You may need to add more stuffing before closing up.
3. Sew each ear between round 3 and 7.
4. Sew the strawberry on top of the ice cream in the centre of the ears. Wrap the cream around the strawberry. Pin down and sew into place.
